About The Event

DAY 1:
You'll join the attorneys for a day of education on Medicaid rules and strategies.

DAY 2:
You’ll have your own day to learn how to apply what you’ve learned, and how to create more efficient workflows for your office. With topics ranging from how to talk to prospects and get important information before a meeting, to how to complete a Medicaid application, as well as how to utilize the ElderDocx® design sheets for drafting documents, you’ll leave with legal technical knowledge, and be armed with tools to make you and your office more efficient.

Medicaid: Countable Assets, Penalties and Exempt Transfers
This session will explore what is meant by countable and non‐countable assets for purposes of Medicaid eligibility, the rules as they relate to gifting, what exempt transfers are allowed, and how to calculate the Community Spouse Resource Allowance (CSRA) and Minimum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance (MMMNA) for married couples

Crisis Planning Strategies
During this session attendees will learn “must‐know” crisis planning strategies allowed under current federal law, a process to evaluate a crisis planning case and how to determine what is applicable in their own state.

Group Work: Looking up Strategies in Your State
Each attendee will work on finding state specific rules, and will be responsible for looking up their state’s Medicaid rules for at least 3 strategies. Instructors will assist as needed.

Crisis Planning Case Studies
Attendees will work through case studies on their own, and then discuss as a group. Attendees will apply their own state’s rules to determine planning strategies.
